Colbert is popularly known for hosting the Comedy Central Program The Colbert Report from 2005 to 2014 and the CBS late night talk show The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.  Colbert always intended to be a dramatic actor, but while at Northwestern University he became interested in improvisational theatre.  Colbert’s first professional theatre was as an understudy at Second City Chicago.

Colbert rose to fame with his work as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s news-parody series “The Daily Show”. His book I Am America (And So Can You!) was ranked number 1 on the The New York Times Best Seller list in 2007.
